Whether we are heading out on a road trip to Las Vegas or we are flying to Hawaii, there are a few things that we never leave home without.
First and foremost, we need snacks! We love to be spontaneous and do ALL THE THINGS when we are out adventuring, and sometimes that means our meal times are less than normal. Since it’s never fun to be hungry, we always make sure to pack a variety of snacks. However, there is one thing that is absolutely essential, and that’s RX Bars. The protein from the egg whites help to keep us full and helps keep the energy up!

Along with snacks, it’s so important to stay hydrated. We always bring a re-usable water bottle. Our favorite ones are from Hydroflask. Even with full bottles of water, it can be so difficult to drink enough on travel days. As a result, we rely on Liquid IV to make sure we get enough electrolytes.
Nothing makes either one of us more sleepy than sitting in the car on long drives. As a result, we started bringing our travel pillows on road trips too! It makes quick naps just a little bit more comfortable in a car or on an airplane. We picked ours up at TJ Maxx many years ago. If you have one that you love, leave it in the comments below so we can check them up! It might be time for an upgrade. 🙂
This might be more of an essential for Heather than it is Huy, but fuzzy socks are key on long plane rides! Comfort and staying warm are so important.

Two other items that might not seem as necessary are a notepad and pen! You never know when you are going to need one or the other, like when you’re filling out immigration forms or you need to jot down an idea for a blog post or a video! Sometimes it’s just easier to use pen and paper.

As much as we’d had to admit, we are so dependent on our phones! They have everything from our boarding passes or our banking information. Their our GPS and often our camera! Nothing is worse than having 5% battery left when you are traveling. We always make sure we have an external battery and extra charging cables. We have loved using an Anker portable charger, and Huy always makes sure it’s charges and ready to go (since Heather would definitely have a dead portable charger with her dead phone).

Last, but not least, of course we never leave without our camera gear! Although we may bring more or less depending on the trip, you can find everything we currently use here. If we had to pick one piece of equipment, it would be our GoPro! We have loved using a GoPro to document our adventures since we got our first Hero 3 in 2012!
